Branding vs Marketing

Branding and marketing are related but distinct concepts. Branding is the process of creating and shaping the identity and image of a product, service, or company. It involves things like developing a brand strategy, creating a brand identity (e.g. logo, color scheme), and communicating the brand through advertising and other marketing efforts. The main goal of branding is to create a strong and recognizable image in the minds of consumers and establish trust and loyalty.

It involves researching and identifying target markets, developing marketing strategies and campaigns, and utilizing various channels such as advertising, public relations, and sales promotions to reach and persuade customers to purchase a product or service. Marketing is the practice of creating value for customers and build profitable relationships.

In short, branding is a subset of marketing, it’s one of the marketing mix elements that helps to create a consistent image and message that differentiates a product or service from its competitors, while marketing is the overall strategy that includes branding, advertising, sales, promotions and more to reach, persuade and convert potential customers into loyal ones.
